Participants' Responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS
Be a high school senior
Adhere to the principles and practices as outlined in the L’Elegance Participant packet
Be recommended by a member of the L’Elegance Committee, Church or School Official
Plan to attend university/college in the following academic year
Successfully complete the Interview process on Sunday, September 29, 2024
RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend and be punctual at all activities - including meetings, workshops, outings and promenade rehearsals
Email a biography for the souvenir journal on or before Sunday, September 29, 2024 to CotillionBeautillion@gmail.com (450 words maximum - guidelines in the Appendix)
Record and submit a short introduction video by Sunday, October 6, 2024 (script in Appendix)
Create and type the letter to solicit donations for scholarship monies (sample letter in Appendix)
Submit a draft of the scholarship donation letter for review no later than Sunday, October 27, 2024.
Mail and/or email donation letters before Thanksgiving
Select an escort by Sunday, December 1, 2024 and provide the escort with program and attire guidelines. The escort must be the opposite gender as the participant
Raise a minimum of $1500 in donations for the journal on or before January 26, 2025
Sell or purchase at least eight (8) tickets to the formal event by Sunday, February 23, 2025
Write and email the Formal Presentation (to be read at the formal event of 180 words or less) on or before Sunday, February 23, 2025 to CotillionBeautillion@gmail.com (guidelines in the Appendix)
Follow the attire guidelines for ALL activities and the formal even
Bring 3 photos (baby, middle school age and current) to the October 13, 2024 meeting (write your name on the back)
SPONSOR SELECTION
The Debutante/Beau should select her/his Sponsor (ONE SPONSOR ONLY of the same gender) and submit the Sponsor Information Form by Friday, September 27, 2024.
The Sponsor’s contact information (name, number, email) must be provided to the Sponsor Coordinator.
The Debutante/Beau can ask the Sponsor Coordinator to assist in selecting a sponsor if needed.

Parents' Responsibilities
Provide Support to the Participant
⧫ Encourage the Debutante/Beau to attend all workshops and other activities.
⧫ Encourage communication between the Debutante/Beau with her/his Sponsor,
⧫ Arrange transportation for the Debutante/Beau to and from all activities and promenade rehearsals.
⧫ Assist the Debutante in the selection of appropriate formal attire.
⧫ Provide the Escort’s parents with the Formal attire guidelines and the promenade rehearsal schedule.
⧫ Assist the Participant in writing and emailing the biography (450 words maximum) for the journal on or before Sunday, September 29, 2024 to CotillionBeautillion@gmail.com (guidelines in the Appendix.)
⧫ Assist in creating, typing, duplicating and mailing/emailing donor letters to solicit donations for scholarship monies (see Appendix). Submit a draft of the letter by Sunday, October 27, 2024.
⧫ Assist the Participant in writing and emailing the Formal Presentation (to be read at the formal event of 180 words or less) on or before Sunday, February 23, 2025 to CotillionBeautillion@gmail.com (see Appendix)
Provide Support for Parent Activities
⧫ Attend each Family/Parent Meeting (Dates provided on the Activities Calendar)
⧫ Attend the Introduction and Dedication Service, Promenade Rehearsals (Promenading Parent), and the Tribute to Parents (Dates provided on the Activities Calendar in Appendix)
⧫ In the event that one parent is unable to present the Debutante/Beau at the formal event, the participating parent is encouraged to have an escort.
⧫ If the parents or guardians are unavailable for the promenade, an alternate adult must be identified.
⧫ Regularly check for emails sent from L’Elegance Cotillion-Beautillion
Provide Financial Support
⧫ Follow the Payment Schedule for the Participation Fee (See page 11.)
⧫ Raise a minimum of $ 1,500 in donations for the journal on or before Sunday, January 26, 2025.
⧫ Email CotillionBeautillion@gmail.com the typed donor names on or before Sunday, February 2, 2025.
⧫ Assist in selling or purchasing at least eight (8) tickets to the formal event by February 23, 2025.
There will be Parent Meetings on the following dates:
* Sunday, October 13, 2024 @ 2:30pm – 4:00pm Brinklow
* Sunday, December 8, 2024 @ 2:30pm – 4:00pm Zoom
* Sunday, February 2, 2025 @ 2:30pm – 4:00pm Brinklow
